Based on the appearance of a ‘southerly buster’’ storm up the Sydney coast. Presented at Milano Salone del Mobile, Ventura Lambrate, Southerly Buster is an atmospheric light sculpture animated by 50 colour changing LEDs embedded within its structure. The programming evokes shifting natural phenomena from storm activity to the warm transitions of sunrise and sunset.
Each fixture is a lightweight interlocking construction that can be disassembled and flat packed for transport. The form is crafted from anodised perforated aluminium, assembled by hand to create a luminous cloud like geometry.
