Moths to a Flame evokes the familiar warmth of summer nights when moths gather around outdoor lights. This installation operates with zero additional energy, relying entirely on existing public lighting to activate the work. Gold‑plated metal moths are suspended on a fine net surrounding the light pole, catching and reflecting the glow to create a soft, golden aura.
As the ambient light shifts, the metallic moths’ shimmer and flicker, recalling the gentle movement of insects drawn to a warm light source. The result is a simple yet evocative transformation of everyday infrastructure into a nostalgic reminder of long, warm evenings.
